Waterlogged car was carrying illegal cargo

A bag of shark fins was found in the wrecked car in which three
men died when when its driver lost control, hit a lamppost and
spun off the N2 into the Black River.
A fourth man was critically injured in the accident, which happened at about 3pm on Sunday.
None of the dead, or the injured man, who is in Groote Schuur Hospital, have been identified.
Police believe the injured man was possibly the driver and are investigating a case of culpable homicide and the illegal possession of shark fins.
Shark fins, popular on Asian markets, are used for shark fin soup, a
delicacy.
